Computing Machinery and Intelligence (1950) Alan Turing 1. Let's propose a game where the machine must imitate a man. 2. There is no point in trying to make a thinking machine more human trying to dress it up in human skin. Thus the test will be done in a question and answer format in written form. 3. Only digital computers can take part in the game. The question of the test is not whether a computer at the time being can complete this test but whether it can do it at all. 4.
